What is the STP Tilt Wheelchair?

At present, the majority of the clients tend to select tilt wheelchairs due to various reasons. Stability, overcoming back pain, and overcoming the sheer force which occurs when you are reclining are some of them. STP stands for Super Tilt Plus. The standard tilt chair by PowerPlus mobility is bound to exceed your expectations.

We present to you 2 main types of tilting wheelchairs. One is the Extreme Tilt wheelchair and the other is the STP. With the tilt system, you could change the seating position and that allows the pressure to be redistributed across different areas. It minimizes the fatigue caused when a passenger is holding their body upright for a longer duration of time. Our clients are in awe of STP mainly for its adjustments, maneuverability, and comfort. STP is one of the best-selling wheelchairs from Power Plus Mobility. This tilts making use of the trigger mechanism on the stroller handles.

In STP you could go up to 50 degrees of tilt. The standard weight configuration of the STP tilt wheelchair is 250 pounds. We use the standards colors of black and silver during the manufacturing process.

STP wheelchair normally weighs about 60 pounds. Coming to the braking system we at Power Plus Mobility Inc., use either Aluminum or Steel.

Adjusting the tilt

There is an indicator with a rollerball that measures the amount of inclination/tilt of the chair. This won’t exceed 50 degrees. The standard angle of the tilt of the STPs that we manufacture at Power Plus Mobility Inc., typically is 32 degrees. Normally you wouldn’t require the tilt to be more than that.

Standard backing height

STP comes with a standard backing height of 26 inches with the capability of adjusting the stroller handles.

Mounting the seat belt.

There are 2 pre-drilled holes on each side of the STP and they are designed so that you could latch your seat belt in.

Adjustable Anti-Tippers

You do not need any extra tools here. There is a tap close to the anti-tippers which would help you to adjust them. At the preferred position, you can lock them up. As a caretaker, if an obstacle comes in your way while pushing the STP you could use this feature.

Arm configuration

The arm configuration needs no tools as well. There is a trigger by which you could adjust the arm up or down. Moreover, the arm is fully removable.

Braking system

You can go either go with an Aluminum braking system or a Steel one for your STP. Using Steel will make the wheelchair bit heavy, but it is very durable. Coming to its configuration, it is your decision whether to go with a pull-to lock system or a push-to-lock system. We have the option of putting a 3, 6, or 9-inch brake extension in STP as well.

Front Rigging

Front rigging uses a latching mechanism and it is easy to be pushed. You could swing them both in and out. What are the situations where this feature becomes useful? Suppose you are in a tight area and you cannot swing the front rigging out to forward transfer. Then you have the option of swinging them in to transfer forward. The adjustable back angle of the canes This is adjustable up to 15 degrees.

Why the STP Tilt Wheelchair?

In-house development

One of our biggest strengths. We know what we create and you just have to say what you need. All STPs are built within Power Plus and hence we guarantee their quality.

Low seat to floor height wheel configuration

We can go down to 12 and a quarter and the client would still have the option of reaching back on the wheels and propelling the chair.

Trigger mechanism for the tilt

For the tilting process, STP uses a trigger mechanism. As a standard, we mount the trigger on the stroller handle, but if you feel comfortable to have it somewhere else, it is your call.

Customized STPs

Just like all our products, you could customize several features in STPs as well. Ex: Aluminum or Steel for the braking system. The color of our STP (All you have to do is giving a week for the painting process.)

Weight capacity capable of handling

Even though the standard weight capacity is 250 pounds, we could go up to 400 pounds as per your demands. . All we have to do is put in greater cylinders and adjust the configuration.

Tight footprint

We did this to make it easy for the chair to turn within a small turning radius. Take the rear axle forward, mount the journals inside the frame to get a very tight turning radius.

If the user is tall and you need to stabilize the chair, move the rear axle back and adjust the height. Then take the front journals and keep them at a leading position. This will ensure a greater turning radius with stability intact.

Health benefits

Medical experts point out that using a tilt wheelchair is favorable for your health in multiple ways. Supporting digestive health, encouraging blood flow, and helping the lung functioning are a few of them.
